The children of Geraldton were out in force this morning, showing West Coast players a thing or two at NAB AFL Auskick Clinics and school visits around the mid-west.

Clinics were held in Geraldton, Northampton, Dongara and Mullewa, where children were given the opportunity to learn footy skills from the best of the best.

Players then visited twelve individual schools, answering questions and teaching students the ins and outs of Australian football, as well as the importance of a healthy lifestyle and good education.

Hard utility Daniel Chick was lucky enough to pay a visit to his old primary school in Northampton. St Mary’s students welcomed Chick with a poster featuring some of his old school photos and an early birthday cake.

“The school’s a lot smaller than I remember,” he chuckled.

“I try to get up to Northampton a few times a year, but it’s been a while since I’ve been back to the school. The kids have been so welcoming, and it’s just fantastic to be here.”

West Coast players and officials will visit seven more schools tomorrow, as well as hospitals and aged care facilities. They will also appear at sponsor functions throughout the afternoon.
