Warm regards

Just when you thought a 40+ degree day would be the worst conditions this week ... humidity enters the chat. While the temperature gauge appeared to top a manageable 36 degrees during today’s training session at Mineral Resources Park, the humidity and thickness in the air made it feel closer to 46 degrees. The players persevered, staying well hydrated, ducking into the cooling fan whenever they had the opportunity and sipping on refreshing slushies.

Liam Duggan and Brady Hough

Duggo back on track

In promising signs, co-captain Liam Duggan was back training with the team today. Duggan suffered a nasty cork to his quad in a training session last week that saw him on lighter duties, but appeared a lot more comfortable on his legs today.

Chatting with fans post-session

Rain, hail or extreme shine

Nothing stops the Eagles faithful, even the severe heat and humidity of a Perth January. In some of the most uncomfortable conditions of 2025 so far, over a hundred fans turned up to Mineral Resources Park to watch their team on the track and show their support. The post-session selfies would have been a little sweatier than usual, but no one was complaining.

Elliot Yeo

Yeo a sight for sore eyes

After his recent incident copping a finger to the eye, Elliot Yeo has returned from lighter duties and is back training with the team. Sporting a trendy pair of protective sunglasses during the session, Yeo didn’t miss a beat, training hard and contributing well in the drills.

Archer Reid

Rucks get up

The Eagles’ tall timber impressed in the middle during their drills today, showing off their aerial dominance, strength and body work. Training under the guidance of Eagles ’94 premiership ruck-turned-ruck-coach Ryan Turnbull, Matt Flynn, Coen Livingstone, Archer Reid, Jack Williams and birthday boy Harry Barnett all put on positive displays.

First-year things

The squad was a little light-on today, with the first-year players attending their AFL induction camp. Bo Allan, Jobe Shanahan, Tom Gross, Lucca Grego, Hamish Davis and Malakai Champion joined the rest of the League’s first-years in Melbourne, learning the ins and outs of life as an AFL footballer.
