Following his signing in October, speedy recruit Jayden Hunt was spotted for the first time in West Coast Eagles colours on Wednesday morning, joining his new teammates for a skills session at Mineral Resources Park.
From the outset the Victorian’s pace was on show, with impressive bursts across the field as he found the ball in space.
The 27-year-old quickly latched onto the side of skipper Luke Shuey, showing an apparent eagerness to learn the ropes of West Coast’s program as quickly as he can.
Swan Districts product Elijah Hewett also arrived at training for the first time after being selected by the Eagles with pick 14 on Monday night during the 2022 NAB AFL Draft.
The midfielder stayed close to last year’s Eagles draft pick of the same number, Campbell Chesser, who took him through the warm-up with his new side.
After some conditioning work alongside forward Oscar Allen and some agility drills, Hewett commenced his own individual program as he learns the ropes at the top level.
Evergreen veteran and games record holder Shannon Hurn looked in good shape as the Eagles were put through their paces with a large contingent of senior players back to pre-season training earlier than required.
