West Coast supporters will get their first look at draftees Isiah Winder and Zane Trew in Sunday’s AAMI Community Series clash with Fremantle at Optus Stadium.

Dynamic and versatile Peel product Winder and crafty Swan Districts midfielder Trew have been impressive since hitting the training track late last year.

They are joined by superstar ruckman Nic Naitanui in the 26-man squad which is hoping for a better showing than last weekend’s 47-point scratch match defeat to the Dockers.

There is a youthful look to the side with 2020 debutants Harry Edwards and Xavier O’Neill set for more experience with the senior team.

Small forward recruit Zac Langdon (who will wear No.38 for this match instead of No.7) has overcome what was a potentially nasty ankle injury suffered late in the practice match to take his spot, while ex-Lions defender Alex Witherden will also be back in action.

Witherden will wear No.45 for this game instead of 23, while Jamaine Jones will don No.18 instead of his 2021 allocated No.31.

Sunday’s clash will be the final chance for players to impress against an opposition team ahead of round one against Gold Coast on March 21.

Skipper Luke Shuey, four-time All Australian backman Jeremy McGovern, full-back Tom Barrass and veteran Shannon Hurn are expected to play more minutes as part of their build towards round one.

Champion forward Josh Kennedy and star midfielder Tim Kelly are both set to be available for the season-opener.
