Eagles score with Kicking Goals
The Kicking Goals program has been recognised with a SHAPED award
Presented by ACHPER’s WA branch, the SHAPED Awards recognise excellence and innovation in health and physical education programs in WA schools and communities, and are supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation, the Department of Education, the Catholic Education Office and the Association of Independent Schools of WA.
At the annual SHAPED Awards Gala Dinner held at Government House last week, the Kicking Goals program at Newman Senior High School was one of the main secondary school program winners.
West Coast Eagles schools and community coordinator Kim Hannah said the recognition was a great result for Kicking Goals.
“I regularly head up to the Pilbara for Kicking Goals trips, so I get to witness first-hand how fantastic this program is,” Hannah said.
“It’s great that it has now been formally recognised.”
The West Coast Eagles would like to thank their principal community partner BHP Billiton and Swan Districts Football Club for making the Kicking Goals program possible.
