West Coast Eagles players and staff will be taking to the streets this Thursday to sell the highly sought after $3 Dig Deep wristbands in the lead-up to the Dig Deep Day clash against Adelaide at Subiaco Oval this Saturday.

Almost the entire list of Eagles players including superstars Mark LeCras, Matthew Priddis, Josh Kennedy and Nic Naitanui will be giving up their time to take part in the club’s Street Appeal to help raise funds for important cancer research projects as well as support for people with cancer and their families.

The Dig Deep Street Appeal will be getting underway at 12:30pm and will see Eagles players and staff let loose for an hour amongst the Murray and Hay St Malls as well as along St George’s Terrace.

The Street Appeal is an integral part in the Eagles ambition to raise over $100,000 for the Cancer Council WA and player ambassador Beau Waters is urging all West Coast supporters to get down and buy a wristband from their favourite player.

“It’s a great chance for us to get out amongst the community and get actively involved in the Dig Deep campaign.

“With 10,000 Western Australians hearing the words ‘You have cancer’ every year, it is so important that everyone gets behind the cause and does their bit in the fight against our nation’s biggest killer,” Waters said.

The Dig Deep campaign, the club’s biggest fundraising initiative for the Cancer Council WA, has run from the beginning of June and will culminate this Saturday when the Eagles take on the Crows in the round 15 ‘Dig Deep Day’ clash at Subiaco Oval.

Since 2005, the West Coast Eagles have helped raise over $500,000 for the Cancer Council WA and would like to thank our 2010 Dig Deep official campaign partner Caltex for their continued support of the campaign.

All proceeds for the sale of the 2010 Dig Deep wristbands will go directly to Cancer Council WA.
