Waalitj Marawar will be without star defender Beth Schilling for the final game of the season, the 21-year-old presenting delayed concussion symptoms after Saturday’s loss to Geelong.
“Schillo’ had a Head Injury Assessment (HIA) done in the third quarter after a heavy tackle, but was cleared to return to play,” AFLW High Performance Manager Wes Salisbury said.
“Unfortunately, post-game she started to develop a few more symptoms, and has since been diagnosed with concussion and will be unavailable this week.”
Exciting young draftee Jess Rentsch will be a test this week, after sustaining an ankle injury in week seven against Hawthorn.
“Jess Rentsch was unlucky to miss out last week, she just wasn’t quite ready,” Salisbury said.
“She’ll look to have a full week on the track and push her case for selection this weekend.”
