3. Sarah Lakay stands tall

Leading ruck Sarah Lakay was pivotal for Waalitj Marawar on Saturday, dominating the hitouts with a season-high 33, and managing 10 touches five tackles and five clearances. She used her strength and physicality around the contest, working hard for second and third efforts and finished with a game-high (4) inside 50s.

4. Schillo keeps shining

Exciting defender Beth Schilling was outstanding on Saturday, her game and confidence continuing to build each week. Schilling managed a career-high 17 touches, six marks, three tackles and game-high 12 intercept possessions. The 21-year-old currently sits equal-fifth in the League for intercept possessions, tallying 72 so far this season.

5. Strong finish against Sydney

While Waalitj are now ruled out of finals contention, the team will look to finish strongly against Sydney at Henson Park on Saturday. This has been the team’s most successful campaign to date, having only previously won two games in a season, and new coach Daisy Pearce will be happy with the progress in her first season at the helm.
