Skipper Emma Swanson has been rewarded for a commanding performance against Richmond on Sunday, being named in the round seven AFLW Team of the Week.

The midfielder also took home a 'player of the day' accolade from senior coach Michael Prior after finishing the match with 22 disposals, seven tackles and five clearances.

Swanson was the most influential Eagle afield, also slotting two goals when the team needed it most and standing up all day in a difficult loss.

The captain had also had a further 10 contested possessions and seven inside 50s, and piled on the pressure with 539 metres gained, by far the most of any player on the field.

This is the second time Swanson has been named in the AFLW Team of the Week across seven matches this season.
