West Coast’s captain and vice-captain have been named in the round five AFL Women’s Team of the Week after standout performances in the Eagles’ engine room against St Kilda on Tuesday afternoon.

Swanson led the team to their first victory of the year and was impressive across the day to finish the match with 19 disposals, four marks and six tackles, while Hooker was the best Eagle afield on the day with 20 disposals, four marks and eight clearances.

The two senior midfielders have been amongst the top performers across the season and finally got some reward for effort with four premiership points in their last Melbourne hub match of the year.

Swanson is having a standout season with the highest disposal average amongst the group (22.3), and metres gained (354.5) and Hooker recorded her highest fantasy points on record (88) against St Kilda with a further 13 contested possessions and four score involvements.
