The high-flying Eagle overcame his second serious hamstring setback in the space of 12 months last pre-season to manage 16 consecutive appearances in a promising sign ahead of his eighth year at the club. Ryan booted 13 majors last year, including three against St Kilda in round 13, his sixth game back from a long lay-off. The Subiaco product made his 100th appearance in blue and gold in round 19 against Brisbane and kicked two goals in a fighting loss, the first game under interim coach Jarrad Schofield. At his best, Ryan is one of the most watchable players in the AFL and has established himself as a major threat in West Coast’s attacking armoury since making his debut - and becoming a premiership player - in 2018.
