The West Coast match committee will be looking for changes to return the Eagles to their winning ways and with six squad members playing in the WAFL over the weekend, these players could provide the catalyst.

Andrew Embley continues to work hard to return from his shoulder injury, playing his second consecutive game for Swan Districts as they took on Peel Thunder. It was another positive outing for Embley, who had 20 disposals, six marks and kicked two goals, looking increasingly comfortable when running out the game.

Big man Scott Lycett continued his return from a knee injury as he took part in the same game. Spending the majority of the contest at full-forward with limited supply, he amassed seven disposals with two marks and goal and will be better for having had the run.

In less positive news, Eagles youngster Murray Newman was injured in the same match, falling awkwardly during a marking contest in the first quarter and failing to return to the contest.

Rookie Simon Tunbridge played for Perth and had an outstanding game for the Demons as an attacking option. Tunbridge was very effective with his disposal and scoring efficiency, collecting 11 touches, five marks, nine tackles and, most importantly, four goals. Tunbridge's ability to be clean with his skills was on display, taking various strong contested marks throughout the day.

Ashley Smith also played for Perth as they took on South Fremantle and looked good both offensively and defensively. Smith racked up 21 disposals with five marks and three tackles across half-back, providing plenty of run from defence, while keeping his direct opponent relatively quiet.

In the same match, Fraser McInnes continued to display his ability to take a strong contested mark. The first year player was also impressive when the ball went to ground, showing off his clean skills in contested situations. He finished with 18 touches, four marks, one tackle and a goal to round off a solid performance.
