Off the back of a hugely successful Dancing With the Stars campaign earlier this year, the David Wirrpanda Foundation welcomed over 300 guests to its annual fundraising dinner on Thursday evening, hosted by Nerelda Jacobs and Tim Gossage.
With Fraser’s Restaurant playing host once again, guests were entertained in the breathtaking function centre with sweeping views of the Swan River, enjoying a feast created by chef Chris Taylor that included Atlantic salmon, veal cutlets and the ever-popular dessert buffet.
The silent auction included some breathtaking artwork by Peter Farmer, and fierce bidding wars were waged during the main auction for some exclusive jewellery pieces by Rohan Milne, personally designed by foundation mentors David Wirrpanda and Troy Cook.
After David’s success in Dancing with the Stars, the evening would not have been complete without some toe-tapping, and reigning WA ballroom champions Lana Skrgic de Fonseka and Brodie Barden set the standard with a spectacular performance, before David and his partner Luda Kroitor had some fun with the jive.
Foundation chief executive officer Lisa Cunningham said the event was the organisation’s most successful to date.
“We are so lucky to have such wonderful supporters in the WA community,” Cunningham said.
“It’s great to be able to showcase the team behind David and generate awareness of the work we do.”
