West Coast officially opened the club’s 2013 campaign yesterday morning, with a sold-out breakfast event at Crown Perth.
Over 1000 guests, including all players, coaches and staff, were welcomed to the grand ballroom by MC Mark Gibson before chairman Alan Cransberg highlighted the club’s agenda for the coming season.

Outgoing no.1 ticket-holder and dual premiership player Michael Brennan then took to the stage to hand over the reins to Rod Moore, who has been the club’s doctor since inception.
With formalities wrapped up, it was time to hear from the players themselves, and Nic Naitanui joined teammates Mark LeCras and Mark Nicoski on stage to discuss their experience with injury, as well as the season ahead.
The next player panel was hosted by Will Schofield, who shared the mic with Jacob Brennan and newcomers Sharrod Wellingham and Cale Morton.
Players past and present were then welcomed onto the stage for a guernsey presentation, with new West Coast recruits accepting their jumpers from former greats such as Ross Glendinning, Phil Narkle and Karl Langdon.
Senior coach John Worsfold closed the event with a stirring speech, giving supporters an insight into his preparation for round one and his hopes for the season overall.
The event was also an opportunity for guests to view the club’s 2013 brand campaign, including three behind-the-scenes videos exploring the theme of inspiration. To view the first video, featuring Nic Naitanui, click here.
