West Coast Eagles captain Shannon Hurn took time out of his training schedule today to get behind the ‘Carry a Can Christmas Appeal’.

Raine Square, Bankwest and the West Coast Eagles called on city workers to ‘Carry A Can’ to work to help feed those in need this Christmas.

The Foodbank WA ‘Carry a Can’ Christmas appeal, part of the Raine Square Christmas Appeal, encourages city workers to bring a can of food to work  which will go towards feeding families in need this Christmas.

Hurn, who was anointed captain of the Eagles on Monday, says it was great to see so much generosity from the public.

“The response was terrific,” he said.

“Every donation is really important, as cans collected will help those in need not only at Christmas, but for the rest of the year as well.”
