The West Coast Eagles Football Club will be out and about in the rural town of Narrogin on Monday and Tuesday, February 4 and 5 as part of the 2008 Telstra AFL Community Camp program.

The annual camps have proved to be hugely successful for both the football club and the communities involved since the program began in 2003, providing a rare opportunity for remote West Coast fans to meet their heroes before the season proper gets underway.

After a civic reception and a range of community activities on Monday afternoon, the 2008 West Coast Eagles squad will be on show at a training session on Narrogin Oval, which will be followed by autograph opportunities for all West Coast supporters.

Following the training session, community players, umpires, coaches and administrators will be given an insight into the workings of a professional football club with West Coast staff leading forums for coaches, trainers and young players, discussing topics that reflect current West Coast and AFL priorities.

Later that evening, the wheatbelt community will have the opportunity to hear from some of the club’s brightest stars at a panel night with club leaders Dean Cox, Ashley Hansen, Daniel Kerr, Matt Priddis and Adam Selwood in attendance, along with captain Darren Glass, senior coach John Worsfold and senior assistant coach Peter Sumich.

To wind up another action-packed camp, lucky students from local schools will participate in a superclinic on Tuesday morning at Clayton Road Oval and will be taken through football skills, drills and activities by some of the game’s best.
