The West Coast Eagles will kick off season 2008 with the launch of our Eagles in the Community logo.
Developed out of a need to share the outstanding work our football club does in the community, the aim has been to create an all-encompassing community logo and title that can be used across all communication channels, in order to increase public awareness of the programs the club is involved with.
We are currently involved with approximately 20 school and community programs, with the players also committing to an enormous amount of additional community work, and we hope that by using the new Eagles in the Community logo for all of our schools and community activities and materials, it will become very well recognised and respected amongst the wider community in Western Australia and beyond.
The new Eagles in the Community logo reflects the qualities the program will project: respectful, friendly, approachable and caring. The hero graphic device developed was a life-like eagle, created with outstretched wings to symbolise openness and hope. The gold was used as the hero colour because it is positive and uplifting. A softer, more modern font was also incorporated to compliment the existing West Coast Eagles font.
In 2008, the West Coast Eagles will continue to support our two major charity partners The Cancer Council WA and Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Keep an eye out for ways in which you can help us to help these charities with the amazing work they do!
We also committed to our Community Merchandise Giving Program which supports thousands of charities and community groups every year through donations of merchandise. These items are used to assist in fundraising for junior football development, youth and education or health and well being.
