Josh Kennedy cemented himself as a modern great when he earned his second Coleman Medal in 2016. The sharp-shooter booted 82 goals in 2016 and was a huge driver in the Eagles’ charge to 16 regular season wins.

Kicking more goals per game than ever before (3.57 per game), Kennedy booted a major in every match he played in 2016, including eight bags of five or more goals in a single game.

Round 1 v Brisbane

What a start to the season. Kennedy burst out of the blocks and into favouritism for the Coleman Medal with eight goals against the Lions. Not only did he claim the huge goal haul, Kennedy worked up and down the ground for 25 possessions and raked in an incredible 16 marks. Will challenge Matt Priddis (43 disposals) for best afield honours.

Round 9 v Port Adelaide

Kennedy was expecting his first child and flew into Adelaide a day later than his teammates. However, he remained focused and booted seven goals, leading the Eagles to their first away win of the season.

Round 20 v Fremantle

Kennedy destroyed the Dockers in round 20 and won his first Ross Glendinning Medal. The Dockers defenders had no answers as Kennedy booted goals from everywhere, finishing the day with seven majors.
