The Marsh Community Series matches are a great opportunity for players to practice their systems and processes against a serious opponent and for young players to press for early selection.

But even the game’s veterans can get something out of it, with champion forward Josh Kennedy imposing himself on this game against the Bombers.

For the first time in a few years he has been able to do most of the work in the pre-season and it was good for him to validate that work with a six-goal haul against Essendon.

Regardless of experience, it’s always nice to confirm in your own mind that things are on track and Kennedy finished with six straight, coming from a mix of strong marks and flawless kicking – off either foot.
