What it means for West Coast: The Eagles fought hard in their first AFLW game against Collingwood, but this is a chance for them register the club’s first ever win in front a big home crowd at Optus Stadium.
The stat: The Eagles had just one less inside-50 than the Mapgies on Sunday, finishing with 22 to the Pies’ 23. More efficient entry into attack will be paramount to claiming victory on Saturday.
The match-up: Sophie McDonald v Sabreena Duffy
McDonald, an athletic defender who is strong in the air and has great shutdown speed, came as advertised in an impressive debut. Duffy will give the young defender everything she can handle coming off a 12-possession, four-goal performance against Geelong.
It’s a big week for: Grace Kelly
The Irishwoman moved well in her debut and came close to making a big impact with relatively few possessions. If Kelly can have an impact on the scoreboard it will help the Eagles take it up to the experienced Dockers.
Big call: Dana Hooker collects 20 touches and kicks a goal against her old side.
