Season 2019 was jam-packed with plenty of memorable milestone matches, but next year’s home and away campaign promises to be just as big for several big-name Eagles.
Andrew Gaff and Jamie Cripps will be hoping to chalk up milestone games in round three.
Gaff is just three games shy of playing his 200th game in blue and gold, while Cripps needs three more appearances to register his 150th outing as an Eagle, which would qualify him for life membership.
The only other Eagles who could join Cripps as a life member next year are Elliot Yeo and Jeremy McGovern, who would need to play 22 and 24 games respectively to meet the 150-game criteria.
West Coast’s leading goal-kicker for season 2019, Jack Darling, will be hoping to play his 200th game during the club’s round four away clash with Port Adelaide, while dynamic defender Lewis Jetta could register his 200th AFL appearance in the same fixture should he hit the ground running next year.
Will Schofield will need to lace up the boots 10 times to reach the 200-game mark.
His back line colleague Brad Sheppard is 22 games shy of raising the bat for his double ton in the club’s revered wings.
Tom Hickey is one game shy of notching his 100th AFL appearance, while Liam Duggan (15 games) and Jack Redden (18 games) are in the running to make their 100th appearance for the club in 2020.
A long list of Eagles are in line to play their 50th game for the club next year.
Nathan Vardy (seven games), Tom Cole (nine), Willie Rioli (12), Liam Ryan (13), Brendon Ah Chee (14) and Jake Waterman (21) could all register their half century as an Eagle in 2020.
And last but not least, boom trade period recruit Tim Kelly is just two games away from playing his 50th AFL game.
If everything goes according to plan, he will tick off the milestone against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium in round two.
