The West Coast Eagles’ AFLW team will attack its debut season with the support of integrated mine site service and logistics provider, MLG, who penned a three-year partnership agreement with the club today.

MLG has thrown its support behind the Eagles by coming on board as an Inaugural Official Partner of the club’s AFLW program.

The Western Australia-based businesses’ logo will take pride of place on the sleeves of AFLW players’ and coaches’ polos from 2020 to 2022.

It will also feature on ground signage during the team’s home qualifying games.

West Coast Eagles general manager of community and game development Richard O’Connell said the AFLW program was thrilled to have the backing of MLG for the next three years.

“It’s fantastic to have MLG join our AFLW team,” O’Connell said.

“The excitement is building as we lead into season 2020 and knowing that we will be supported by another fine Western Australian company is to be celebrated.

“MLG are moving into their 20th year of operations next year while we are about to step into the AFLW arena for the first time, so we are both celebrating milestones in our respective journeys.

“Our players are not afraid to get their hands dirty and nor are MLG, who support many of Australia’s biggest mining operations.

“It’s great to be standing together as we write our AFLW story.”

MLG managing director Murray Leahy said the company wanted to partner with the West Coast Eagles because of the club’s culture of supporting women in leadership positions and the promotion of equality, in both business and sport.

“MLG is proud to be partnering with the West Coast Eagles’ inaugural AFLW team,” Leahy said.

“Partnering with one of the most successful sporting brands in Australia is consistent with our values of leadership, passion and courage, and supports our mission as a high-performing, team-oriented workforce.

“We were also attracted by the West Coast Eagles’ drive to deliver diversity through the promotion of equality in sport. We’re delighted to be an inaugural partner and look forward in building a long-term partnership with the West Coast Eagles.

“With two daughters of my own and being a long-time fan of the West Coast Eagles, I am delighted for MLG to play a role in promoting these incredible athletes to reach their full potential.

“Sport is a very important part of life in my hometown of Kalgoorlie and I look forward to seeing a number of players from regional WA thrive on the big stage of the AFLW.”
