The West Coast Eagles expect star duo Jeremy McGovern and Luke Shuey to overcome minor injury concerns and take on Collingwood in the 2018 AFL Grand Final.

McGovern left the field midway through the opening quarter of the club’s preliminary final clash with Melbourne after copping a big cork to his hip, while Shuey turned his left ankle during the opening exchanges of the second quarter.
Both McGovern and Shuey returned to the field after receiving treatment.
Shuey ran out the game, but the club elected to bench McGovern for the majority of the final quarter as the Eagles punched their ticket to the Grand Final with a 66-point triumph over the Demons.
The three-time all-Australian was a noticeable absentee from West Coast’s open training session at Subiaco Oval yesterday, but general manager of football Craig Vozzo said McGovern would build his way into the week and should be good to go against the Pies on Saturday.
“Big Gov, that was a big knock. He’s brave, but he’s brave every week for us,” Vozzo said.
“He’s going through the normal protocol you do with a cork and we expect him to get better and better as the week progresses and to get more and more functional and capable.
“Certainly, he’ll be in Melbourne with us and we are pretty confident he’ll be playing.”
Vozzo said Shuey was a certain starter for the season decider given he moved freely at yesterday’s open training session.
He said the 2016 John Worsfold medallist would participate in the club’s main training session tomorrow.
“Luke has pulled up really well. He got through the game as you saw pretty much fully functional and has pulled up, as of Sunday, quite well,” Vozzo said.
“He’s making really good progress. He ran yesterday in our pretty light session and we expect him to main train tomorrow.”
