First question missed*

"We've been, obviously, trying to manage our, not expectations, but the way we want to be perceived and what we're trying to do throughout the whole year. We wanted to start the year by improving, that meant getting into the finals, so that was our planning. We didn't put a ceiling on it, we wanted to continue to develop our list, we're excited about our list. We didn't make too many changes last year, so it put a bit of belief in the players. As the season progressed we obviously got some wins and things change and we finish second on the ladder. Now we can have a tilt at it."

Sam Lane (Chanel Seven)- What's your take on tonight? Do you like going into a final with such a huge win under your belt?

"It's a good question. We've been playing pretty tough opponents for the last six weeks, probably four or five top six sides in the last six weeks, so I think we're match-hardened. Last week was really disappointing; it probably got us to realign our intent and mindset from last week's game. There's probably a couple of club's who went through that this week, so hopefully that's a thing of the past."

Kim Hagdorn (The Sunday Times)- What's more of concern tonight- to kick the goals and have a big margin win, 95 points? Or to keep them to just 10 scoring shots? What's a better way to win?

"I thought the second half we played a way that reminded us of what we want to stand for as a club and how we want to play. We want to attack, but we want to defend well as well. So the game wasn't really played in our half in the first half, I thought we probably, just because we were a little more experienced and had a little bit more to play for, we had ascendancy at half time. But I thought in the second half, the Saints got a bit tired, but we played a more solid brand of footy."

Kim Hagdorn (The Sunday Times)- Are you convinced your style of play can win finals?

"I don't think it's about 'your style', I don't think it gets to that. I mean, everyone's got a different way of playing the game, but when you strip it back it's not that different. There's little tweaks, you've got to have talent, you've got to have belief, those things are pretty important as well. To answer your question, yes I do."

Dale Miller (The West Australian)- Adam Chris Masten...what's the prognosis? It looked like a hamstring...

"Looks like a hamstring, I'm not sure how bad so we'll get a scan tomorrow and we'll get onto it as quickly as we can."

Sam Lane (Chanel Seven)- You wanted to keep a close eye on Jeremy McGovern, he finished the game on the bench, how is he at this point?

"I don't know, I haven't got a medical report yet."

Sam Lane (Chanel Seven)- Is he in doubt? Is there any issue?

"No I think we had four on the bench, and they were all players that we've been managing so no problem."

Justin Chadwick (AAP)- Can you talk us through those final two minutes when someone came off, you had four fit guys on the bench plus Masten?

"Well there was only one scenario that we didn't want to happen in the last two or three minutes so we tried to manage our players. We didn't want to disrespect St Kilda but we wanted to get Josh off at some stage, it happened to be in the last three minutes, I couldn't get him off either, we try to manage our players as best we could without disrespecting the game."

Kim Hagdorn (The Sunday Times)- Is Jeremy (McGovern) fully healthy with that shoulder? To me it just looked as though he wasn't quite going for his marking with a confidence in the left side and he spoiled a bit with his right arm and so on...

"It looked a bit like that didn't it? First half he looked like he was carrying it a little bit, but the second half he was fine, it's your typical AC (Joint) that's sore and you've got to look after. There'd be lots and lots of players that play with it, it's not a concern for this week, he's just got to play with a bit of pain which I'm sure he's happy to do."

Kim Hagdorn (The Sunday Times)- Let's assume Masto (Chris Masten) doesn't come up, or he's at least doubtful all week, do you drag some boys out of East Perth tomorrow?

"We've got to look at that tonight. It's a five-day break after Eats Perth tomorrow so we've got to manage our list as best as we can. We've been dealing with it pretty well throughout the year with a bit of adversity and personnel changes, so this won't be any different."

Sam Lane (Chanel Seven)- And Will Schofield?

"Yep, he'll play."

Justin Chadwick (AAP)- It's a pretty significant achievement to finish second on the ladder can you just talk about how proud you are of the players and obviously combined with the adversity you've faced this year as well?

"We're really happy, we're ecstatic. We hope all our members and supporters are enjoying the ride as much as we are. We're all pretty young, despite my hair, we're a young coaching group as well. We've probably exceeded a lot of people's expectations internally I don't think we have put a ceiling on what we can achieve and we're enjoying the ride. We're a little bit different than the other top-four sides, they're hardened, year-in year-out top-four teams. So this is great learning for us and you never know."

Kim Hagdorn (The Sunday Times)- Do you put a lid on expectations now or do you just take it off and go for the ride?

"I think you've just got to go for it now."

Kim Hagdorn (The Sunday Times)- Say that again?

"I think you've got to go for it don't you when you finish second. We're here to win a premiership."

Alex Malcolm (afl.com.au)- It's out of your hands Adam, but given the context of the injuries, how do you handle the back-to-back six-day breaks?

"Look, Hawthorn have got to handle it as well, so we're fine with, well we're not fine with it, but that's what it is and we're not complaining. The good thing is it's at home."

Dale Miller (The West Australian)- Adam the fact that you pushed Hawthorn here and almost beat them without Nic Naitanui five or six weeks ago does that mean anything heading into next week?

"Maybe, maybe a little bit for the confidence and belief of our players. I think it was a wet night as well. I thought Hawthorn lost their rucks early as well and we didn't get it done. Some good memories but some bad ones too. They're a formidable side so we need to prepare as best we can, manage our bodies and throw everything at them."
