West Coast midfielder Chris Masten's finals campaign is in jeopardy after he injured his hamstring in the clash against St Kilda at Domain Stadium on Saturday night.
WATCH: Hammy trouble for Masten?
Masten was substituted out of the game midway through the second term and immediately had ice applied to his lower right hamstring.
It was his first game back since being suspended for two matches for biting in the round 20 western derby.
Coach Adam Simpson said post-match that the Eagles would not know the severity of the injury until he has scans on Sunday.
"It looks like a hamstring, I'm not sure how bad," Simpson said.
"We'll get the scan tomorrow and we'll get onto it as quick as we can."
Masten will almost certainly miss the Eagles' qualifying final against Hawthorn next Friday night in Perth.
A standard 21-day hamstring recovery would see him pushing to be available for a preliminary final if the Eagles progress.
The options to replace Masten are due to play in a WAFL final for East Perth on Sunday.
Eagles vice-captain Scott Selwood was named to play in that game after he wasn't selected for the St Kilda clash. Kane Lucas is another potential midfield option.
The Eagles will decide on Sunday whether to pull players out of the WAFL final to have them fresh and available to face Hawthorn.
"We've got to look at that tonight," Simpson said.
"It's a five-day break after East Perth tomorrow, we've got to manage our list as best we can. We've been dealing with it pretty well throughout the year with a bit of adversity and personnel changes so this won't be any different."
Simpson confirmed key defender Will Schofield as a starter to face the Hawks. Schofield has not played since round 20 due to a hamstring injury.
Jeremy McGovern should be OK despite carrying his left shoulder throughout the match against the Saints.
“In the first half it looked like he was carrying it a little bit but the second half he was fine," Simpson said.
"It's a typical AC (joint) that's sore and you've got to look after it. There will be lots and lots of players who play with it. It's not a concern for this week, he's just got to play with a bit of pain, which I'm sure he's happy to do."
The Eagles finished the match with five players on the bench to preserve some of their big men in Nic Naitanui, Josh Kennedy, Callum Sinclair and McGovern.
"There was only one scenario that we didn't want to happen in the last two or three minutes," Simpson said.
"So we tried to manage our players. We didn't want to disrespect St Kilda but we wanted to get Josh off at some stage. It happened to be in the last three minutes."
