Hey Rock-bloggers!
It’s footy week! I can’t believe that by this time next week, we will have played our first NAB Challenge match of 2016. I’ve spent all summer counting down the days until the footy arrives, and now that it’s here I can’t believe it got here so quickly.
There are a million things to look forward to this weekend. I’ve got so many questions to ask Simmo when I see him next. How many of our young rookies will play? How are our recruits going? Does he need me to fill in as a ruckman if the big guys need a bit of a rest? I think I’d be an ace ruckman. I’d just get the ball and fly off towards goals. On second thoughts, I’d need to bounce the ball, so maybe I shouldn’t fly the whole time.
As it’s the NAB Challenge, I’m hoping the boys are able to shake off a summer’s worth of rust. These matches can be a bit scrappy, but fingers crossed we come through without any injuries and we see a few plays that make the feathers on my neck stand up and make me go “whoah”.
To any of my Rookie buddies in Adelaide – have you asked mum and dad if you can come down to the ground on Sunday? We’d love to see every bit of blue and gold in the crowd as we hope to show the Crows that we’re the real ‘big birds’ of the competition.
Until next week, have an awesome time at school!
