Hi rock-bloggers, how are we?
What an amazing couple of weeks!
First we got the nail-biting win over Adelaide in Round 23 to send us into the finals. Some speedy work from the human flash Lewis Jetta and a big goal from Jack Darling helped us over the line and into the top eight! The crowd (and me) went wild as we chaired off club champ Matt Priddis, and walked off Subi for the last time. I sure am going to miss this place, but gee next year at the new stadium looks completely ace!
Then, when I thought it couldn’t get more exciting, my good mate Luke sank his right Shuey into the game-winner after the siren! I was soaring high after that game; the Eagles sure know how to get Rick the Rock fired up. I think I must have flown around Perth 20 times and high-fived a thousand people. My wings sure hurt on Sunday, but it was sooo worth it.
But it wasn’t just ‘Boots’ who won the day for us. The bravery by old E-Mac and some cool goals from the big fella JK helped us switch off the Power and now we look forward to the massive trip to Spotless Stadium to take on the Giants.
The boys will be hungry for another taste of the finals action and the Giants will be a worthy foe. I think we’ll definitely do well. I was chatting to guys at training yesterday, and they can’t wait. Some people may have told us we weren’t going to win this year, but just between you and me, I think they’re pretty fired up.
Wherever you’re watching on Saturday night, make sure you’re wearing your best Eagles gear and cheering so loud that non-one in your street will ever think you barrack for another team!
We will need every voice in the West and beyond to help us move closer to Grand Final glory. Beat the Giants, and then we’ve got the Tigers. Wow, such a big few weeks coming up, I can’t wait.
Anyway, I’ve got to keep match fit for the finals, so I’d better fly. As always, stay well, cheer loudly, and most importantly LETS GO EAGLES!!!
