Exciting West Coast recruit Roxy Roux will make her club debut in the blue and gold on Sunday against the Giants.
The former Docker joined the nest during the 2023 trade period, and unfortunately sustained a hand injury on the eve of the Eagles’ season-opener, missing the first five games of 2024.
The 22-year-old forward-mid is known for her high-flying marks and ability to hit the scoreboard, and she will be a welcome inclusion into the side this week.
“Roxy had a really strong pre-season, and it was really unfortunate to see her injure her hand in the lead up to round one,” Head of Women’s Football Michelle Cowan said.
“She is a versatile and electric player with an impressive highlights reel, and we can’t wait to see Roxy debut this weekend as an Eagle.
“After spending five seasons at the Dockers, we believe her best football is still ahead of her and we love the energy, excitement and passion that Rox brings to our team.”
Roux is joined in the extended squad by midfielder Abbygail Busby and defender Sasha Goranova.
Bushby sustained an adductor injury in the Eagles’ week three win over the Bulldogs and has progressed well through her rehab and reintegrated into main training this week.
Goranova suffered a hamstring strain in the same game, and after ticking off a lot of her rehab milestones, has been named on the extended bench for this week’s clash with GWS.
