The 2024 West Coast Eagles AFL Fan MVP was announced at last Thursday’s John Worsfold Medal ceremony, with star forward Jake Waterman polling most fan votes throughout the year.
Fans were given the opportunity to vote for their pick of best player after each match in the 2024 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.
After almost 5000 votes were cast, Waterman snuck over the top of the second-place getter, Elliot Yeo, by a mere 44 votes, in what proved to be a neck-and-neck race all season.
In his breakout year, Waterman’s Fan MVP award added to his list of 2024 accolades, including All-Australian selection, leading goalkicker and third-place overall in the John Worsfold Medal count.
To round-out the season-long competition, one fan was selected as the Grand Prize winner to attend the medal count and present the Fan MVP award as part of the evening’s celebrations.
This honour went to passionate club supporter Kerrie Sheedy, an 18-year member, who proudly presented the award on behalf of all the fans.
“Thank you to the Eagles team for such a lovely experience. It was an honour to present the award to Jake and represent the supporters on the evening," she said.
The club wishes to thank all members and fans who took part in the Fan MVP competition in 2024. Keep an eye on westcoasteagles.com.au for the return of the competition in 2025.
