The West Coast Eagles would like to provide an update on the club’s search for a senior coach for the 2025 AFL season.

Since the club and Adam Simpson mutually parted ways earlier this month, the club has spent significant time determining exactly what key competencies and skills we are looking for in our next senior coach.

This process has been completed and the club will now move to the next stage of developing a shortlist of candidates to participate in interviews.

The panel conducting these interviews will be as follows:

- Don Pyke (CEO)

- Gavin Bell (General Manager - Football)

- Rowan Jones (Director - Football Affairs)

- Jan Cooper (Director)

- Harry Taylor (Performance Leadership Consultant)

Jan Cooper (OAM) is a pioneer of women’s football who recently joined the Board. She was recognised for her contribution to Australian football by being the first female inducted into the WA Football Hall of Fame in September last year.

Harry is a dual Geelong premiership player (2009, 2011) and All-Australian (2010, 2013) who is now doing some Performance Leadership consulting at the club. Both Jan and Harry bring diverse experience and expertise to the panel.

The club looks forward to providing further updates as the process unfolds. While there is no firm timeline on appointing our senior coach, the club anticipates the process to be completed during September.
