In an exciting coup for the West Coast Eagles organisation, AFLW icon Daisy Pearce was named as senior coach of the AFLW team following the conclusion of last season.
In addition to Pearce’s appointment, there has been a number of changes to the coaching panel for the 2024 campaign.
West Coast’s AFL ruckman Matt Flynn has been appointed as ruck coach for the women’s team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and hands on experience to the role.
Eagles Senior Coach of Academies Rohan McHugh, who for the past two seasons has been the AFLW backline coach, has made the switch and will guide the forwards for the upcoming season.
Experienced assistant coach Martene Pearman will step into the role of backline coach, the former state women’s captain and Coastal Titans (now Subiaco) premiership captain/coach entering her second season with the club.
Head coach of the Subiaco WAFLW side Baker Denneman has joined the nest for 2024 as midfield coach, having previously worked through NSW/ACT pathways, and holding coaching roles at both the Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney Giants Academy.
Andrew Di Loreto (Head of Development) and Amanda Robertson (Development Coach) remain on the coaching panel, while premiership-winning WAFL coach Darren Harris has come on board in a leadership capacity.
The Eagles kick of the 2024 season against Richmond on Friday, August 30 at Mineral Resources Park.
