Young forward Jack Williams has forced his way into the West Coast Eagles line-up for the Easter Sunday clash against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.
His inclusion at the expense of developing ruckman Harry Barnett was the only change instigated by the match committee as they venture on a nine-day east coast mission.
Williams commanded selection on the back of two three-goal efforts in the last two WAFL Eagles practice games, particularly last Saturday when he was a reliable inside 50 target against Subiaco.
He took six or seven marks inside the attacking the arc, competed strongly and finished off his work. Williams has played 11 games in his brief career and will be looking to impact and nail down a sport that is vacant as co-captain Oscar Allen recovers from a knee injury.
The travelling emergency is young midfielder-forward Harvey Johnston who has also been impressive in practice matches. Johnson was the club’s final selection at pick No.49 in the National Draft last November and has shone since arrival.
The travel party will remain in Melbourne before heading directly to Adelaide next Thursday for the Gather Round match against Sydney at Mt Barker.
