The West Coast Eagles hosted its third Eagles in their Prime activity morning of 2016 at Domain Stadium yesterday.
More than 50 of the club’s most senior and loyal members attended the event, which aims to motivate over 65s to have a go at learning new skills, make new friends and create awareness of important health, social and educational issues.
West Coast Eagles inaugural captain Ross Glendinning addressed the group before kicking off the morning’s activates, which included pole walking around Domain Stadium's playing surface, seated hockey, carpet golf, exergaming, skittles and Hart sport activities facilitated by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA.
SRCWA, Australian Hearing, Telstra, Kings Tours & Travel, Breast Screen and NE Solutions made available static displays in the players’ warm-up room while West Coast club historian Ken Godwin arranged for the display of several pieces of club memorabilia, including the 2006 premiership cup.
Attendees were later treated to a tour of the team's training facilities by former players Bradd Dalziel and Will Maginness and one group got an exclusive run down on the progress of West Coast's burgeoning Lathlain Park precinct by general manager of business strategy and growth Deane Pieters.
The event concluded with a morning tea in the players’ lounge and a 2006 premiership quiz.
