Games record holder Shannon Hurn and premiership forward Jamie Cripps are key inclusions for the West Coast Eagles as they prepare to tackle St Kilda at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

Cripps will be the first of a handful of players who suffered serious injuries in round three against Fremantle to make his return to senior football after a lengthy recovery from a fractured ankle.

Jeremy McGovern is also closing in on a return as he recovers from hamstring surgery, while Liam Ryan’s resumption has been delayed.

Hurn’s season has been interrupted by groin and hamstring issues but he is ready to resume after a two-game absence. The 328-game veteran will be a welcome inclusion in defence.

Also named in an extended squad are first-year ruckman Harry Barnett, midfielder Xavier O’Neill and rookie Tyrell Dewar. They have all been named on an eight-man bench which will be refined tomorrow afternoon.

Unfortunately, explosive midfielder Elliot Yeo is sidelined with a hip injury while a quad strain will keep utility player Samo Petrevksi-Seton out of the game.
