The AFL has confirmed the 2023 NAB AFLW Season start date, with the opening round to commence of the first weekend in September and coincide with the AFL pre-finals bye.
Clubs will officially begin their pre-season training preparations from May 29.
“We want to provide certainty to AFLW players, clubs and fans while the CBA negotiations are ongoing,” said Andrew Dillon, the League’s EGM Football Operations, Legal a& Integrity.
"The first weekend of September is the best time for the 2023 season to start, with all eyes on the AFLW due to the bye in the AFL.
“Season length and structure continue to be discussed as part of CBA negotiations. Planning is well underway and we are excited for the AFLW season ahead.”
The West Coast Eagles are entering an exciting phase ahead of their fifth season in the competition, with many players using club facilities during their off-season break.
