Games record holder Shannon Hurn will return to battle for the clash with Carlton at Optus Stadium on Saturday night after a two-week hiatus.
The inclusion of Hurn and midfielder Xavier O’Neill to replace captain Luke Shuey, developing defender Rhett Bazzo and young midfielder Zane Trew, are the changes in the wake of a loss to Port Adelaide last week.
Either Bazzo and Trew could still be retained after being named on the emergency list – with young ruckmen Harry Barnett and Callum Jamieson.
Bazzo started as the tactical substitute against the Power and was injected into the game to replace Shuey, who was eventually subbed out with an ankle injury in the third quarter.
Shuey bobbled from a midfield stoppage in the opening minutes after having his ankle trapped under Port Brownlow medallist Ollie Wines. He received treatment, had the ankle re-strapped and returned, but succumbed to the injury later in the match.
Bazzo played in his customary role in defence when given his opportunity while Trew took up some of the midfield slack in his skipper’s absence.
The club is expecting it’s biggest home crowd of the season with the fan-friendly Saturday night (5.30pm) timeslot and a large contingent of Blues supporters in the State.
