West Coast Eagles skipper Luke Shuey and Callum Jamieson are set to be available against Port Adelaide on Saturday, however star Elliot Yeo is set to miss several weeks with a groin complaint.
Shuey has missed the past two matches with a minor hamstring strain and young ruck Jamieson is pushing to play following an ankle setback.
“Luke has done all his progressions as per his rehab plan to date and had a big session on Saturday so he just has to train this week to push for selection this weekend,” Head of Health Mark Finucane told westcoasteagles.com.au.
“Similar to Luke, Cal did a big session on Saturday, including some ruck work and he just needs to get through training this week to be available for the weekend.
“Unfortunately, Elliot has sustained an adductor muscle in a tackling contest on Patrick Dangerfield, so he’ll be unavailable for likely the next couple of weeks.”
Young gun Elijah Hewett is nursing a swollen ankle after slipping at the opening ball-up in the WAFL on Saturday and is set to miss several weeks, with an exact timeframe yet to be determined.
Ruck Bailey Williams developed hamstring tightness late in the clash against Geelong and will be monitored at training this week, while young gun Reuben Ginbey will be fine to face the Power after being managed and subbed out against the Cats.
Experienced midfielder Dom Sheed is multiple matches away from returning from a throat injury suffered at training.
“Dom saw a specialist late last week who has advised to avoid contact for another couple of weeks with his throat so he’ll have a review with that specialist in a fortnight’s time, so we’ll have further information from there,” Finucane said.
Tom Cole (ankle) and Isiah Winder (knee) are dealing with bone stress injuries, while Harry Edwards’ fractured wrist sustained last week at training doesn’t require surgery but needs time to settle before he resumes.
Meanwhile, scans have revealed a hamstring strain for Coby Burgiel following the WAFL Eagles’ loss to West Perth with his stint on the sidelines still being assessed.
