The WAFL Eagles won their second practice match in another tight game, defeating East Perth by six points.

The first term saw both teams kicking goal for goal, with just three points the difference leading into the second term.

In the second stanza, the WAFL Eagles worked hard as a unit to keep East Perth at bay, applying pressure around the ground and gaining more forward half entries.

After halftime East Perth snagged two quick goals bringing them back into the game.

In hot conditions, the young side showed positive signs competing at the contest and holding onto their lead with composure.

Xavier O’Neill sealed the win kicking his second goal in the final minutes of the fourth term, claiming the six-point victory 15.14 (104) to 14.14 (98).

The WAFL Eagles will take on Subiaco this Saturday at Leederville Oval in their last warm-up game ahead of round one against South Fremantle.

WAFL coach Rob Wiley runs through the AFL-listed players’ performances:

Tyrell Dewar: Played his second game and improved from last week, showed some very good goal awareness and great courage.

Rhett Bazzo: Defensively he did very well, the most pleasing part that he got through his return to football and can only get better from that.

Luke Edwards: Again, played his role well and was a solid contributor to the team.

Brady Hough: In great form. He defended extremely well and gave the side a lot of attack showing he is ready for an AFL call up.

Greg Clark: Showed outstanding attributes in playing his role, winning the football, and showing great leadership.

Connor West: Played in and under and provided some great football.

Jack Petruccelle: With ball in hand he was very exciting and his match fitness will see him improve even more.

Xavier O'Neill: He worked hard with the other midfielders against a very strong East Perth midfield. Two goals was a great return for his efforts.

Zane Trew: Very clean around the contest and showed his improved fitness being able to get from contest to contest.

Isiah Winder: Another solid four-quarter effort. He was very clean, used the ball well and provided us with good run across half forward.

Jai Culley: Took on a tagging role early in the match and did a great job. Unfortunately, he had a minor injury which stopped him from playing the last quarter, but he showed a good first up effort in the WAFL.

Luke Foley: He was solid again across the halfback flank and showed a lot of courage. He made some great goal saving marks and got involved.

Harry Barnett: Really good experience for Barnett against East Perth’s intimidating ruckman. He showed lots of great glimpses, his mobility will be a real advantage going forward.

Harry Edwards: Put up a solid fight playing down back for three quarters. The last term saw him play in the ruck, giving us great contest and used the ball well.

Callum Jamieson: Put on an encouraging performance and competed well against East Perth's ruckman, taking great defensive marks. Unfortunately, he only played two quarters after an injury in the first term.
