Versatile forwards Jake Waterman and Samo Petrevski-Seton have both been elevated to the starting line-up for the West Coast Eagles first home game against GWS on Sunday.

Waterman, who has the capacity to play as a high half-forward or a third tall option alongside Oscar Allen and Jack Darling, forced his way into the team with an eye-catching WAFL practice match display against Claremont.

So, too, did Petrevski-Seton and he deserves an early opportunity after a solid pre-season. Petrevski-Seton has the added string to his bow of being able to move into defence if required.

After senior coach Adam Simpson announced earlier today that the club’s second selection from the 2022 draft, lively forward/midfielder Elijah Hewett would make his debut the club has made three changes to the team that lost to North Melbourne last week.

Jack Petruccelle, who was the substitute against the Roos, has returned to get a full hit out while developing ruckman Callum Jamieson and midfielder Xavier O’Neill has also been omitted.

Jamieson was subbed out last week as the coaching staff went with Bailey Williams as the sole ruckman from deep in the third quarter.

The presence of Hewett, who joins midfielder/defender Reuben Ginbey and small forward Noah Long as a debutant from the November intake, will further emphasise this team’s transition.

The emergencies are wingman Greg Clark, O’Neill and Jamieson.

In further good news hard-edged midfielder Jai Culley and exciting young defender Rhett Bazzo will also play in a WAFL practice game against East Perth tomorrow.
