As it has been for most of this season, the form of West Coast-listed players in the WAFL at the weekend, was first class.
Whether it be premiership players like Ash Hansen, Mark Seaby and Chad Fletcher or young aspirants finding their way in senior football, like Will Schofield, Jordan Jones or Ryan Davis, all were in eye-catching touch.
Hansen produced a four-goal haul to be influential in Swan Districts resounding victory over Claremont, while Seaby was best afield for West Perth and Fletcher earned the same distinction for Subiaco.
An important player for Swans was Adam Hunter, who resumed from shoulder surgery, and played with good effect at both ends of the ground. His young teammate, Ryan Davis, gathered 32 possessions in a classy four-quarter display.
Peel might not have been able to mix it with South Fremantle, but Jordan Jones and Will Schofield did their bit for the Thunder cause, both putting their names before the match committee with accomplished displays.
Claremont v Swan Districts
Lewis Stevenson: Used in a variety of positions, including half-forward, wing and then the back-pocket. Worked hard in a team that was well beaten in picking up 18 possessions. Made some very effective tackles and did his bit for the Tigers.
Liam Bedford: Returned to senior football and played mainly across half-back where did some good things. Spent a lot of time in the second half coming on and off the ground with a knee complaint.
Beau Wilkes: Started at full-back on Ashley Hansen and struggled against the odds, with the ball being fired in often. He was moved to centre half-forward in the second quarter, took five marks and kicked one goal for the quarter. Played out the remainder of the game in attack, apart from a short time in the ruck. Had 16 possessions and took nine marks.
Ryan Davis : An outstanding game across half-back and through the midfield, where he picked up 32 possessions in possibly his best four quarter performance at WAFL level. His decision making, ball use and ability to run and carry the ball was very good.
Ashley Hansen: Produced a very strong effort and helped to set Swans up with a dominant first quarter where he worked very hard. Stayed strong in pack marks and finished with four goals.
Tony Notte: Kicked a couple of goals. But had a relatively quiet day in a dominant display from his club.
Adam Hunter: A good hitout for Hunter who was returning from shoulder surgery. Played forward for the first three quarters and worked hard before finishing the game at centre half-back where he offered strong rebound.
West Perth v East Fremantle
Mark Seaby: An outstanding effort from Seaby, who dominated the ruck with great taps to his teammates. Seaby collected 25 possessions and had 37 ruck knocks. He also ran hard through the corridor and did many of the team things which helped the Falcons control the game.
Brent Staker: Played in the key forward posts for East Fremantle and produced a terrific game. Could have finished with more than three goals, but was a reliable focal point for his team. He made the most of limited opportunities as the Sharks were well beaten.
Perth v Subiaco
Ashley Smith: Started well but drifted out of the game from the middle part of the first quarter. Perth were out-pointed after half-time and Smith did some eye-catching things.
Will Sullivan: Had 25 hitouts, but did not have a strong presence around the ground.
Adam Cockie: A steady performance, if unspectacular. Typically his work in close was good, but would expect a higher possession rate than the 15 he gathered.
Chad Fletcher: Another terrific effort from the veteran, who was close to best afield with 36 possessions. Ran hard, worked even harder and supplemented his game with 11 tackles.
South Fremantle v Peel
Will Schofield: Played forward and also spent time in the middle. He started the game well as a lead up forward and worked hard up the ground. A solid clash in the third quarter slowed him down, but he produced a solid performance in a team well beaten.
Jordan Jones: Started on the wing and was rotated to the bench in the middle of the opening two quarters. Jones played wing, full-back and full-forward in the second half and in the the third term picked up eight possessions on a wing.
Ashley Arrowsmith: Spent the first 15 to 20 minutes of the opening two quarters on the bench. He played as a wingman when on and helped set up a few good passages of play.
