The hard-running forward was another key squad member struck down during West Coast’s horror pre-season injury run, with a torn pectoral costing him the opening month of the season.
However, Cripps soon found his feet and played a significant role for the remainder of a trying campaign.
The 30-year-old enjoyed a purple patch after the mid-season bye, booting eight goals in three games and averaging better than 18 disposals.
Cripps also finished the year strongly with three deadeye set shot goals at Geelong in his 200th game in blue and gold.
He ended the campaign with 22 majors from 17 games, averaged nearly 14 touches per game as well as four inside 50s and tackles (rated elite for his position) to underline his value to Adam Simpson’s best 22.
Standout performance: At home at the home of footy
Cripps has enjoyed some unforgettable moments at the MCG and clearly enjoys playing at the AFL’s mecca, as his effort against Richmond in round 16 proved.
In the middle of a fine run of form, Cripps slotted three majors and tallied a season-high 24 disposals during the high-quality and entertaining contest.
The premiership forward also delivered a remarkable 11 inside 50s from 95 per cent game time, with a match-high 637m gained and nine score involvements.
It was a complete performance in the extremely challenging high half-forward role.
