The wiry and athletic Harvey product’s meteoric rise from country football to the big time continued when Hough was deservedly named the club’s Emerging Talent award winner following an impressive first season.
Hough made his debut in round one against Gold Coast and managed 15 senior appearances, capitalising on the opportunity that knocked for young players.
Starting across half-back, the unflappable 19-year-old – taken via pick 31 in the draft – soon moved up to a wing, where his running ability came to the fore.
Still growing into his body, the 190cm youngster has a bright future ahead and looms as a valuable piece in the club’s rebuild back towards contention.
Standout performance: Scrapping with the Dogs
It was a tough night for the team in a triple-figure loss but Hough was among West Coast's best in the face of adversity against the Western Bulldogs in round 11.
The talented teen never stopped trying despite the scoreboard getting away from the Eagles, and finished with a season-best 23 disposals, 11 marks and three rebound 50s.
Hough’s effort against Richmond at the MCG in his first game at the home of football in round 15 was also highly commendable, producing a 20-disposal and 10-mark display in a much more competitive team effort.
