West Coast half-back Belinda Smith has been named in the round two AFLW Team of the Week after an impressive performance against Gold Coast on Sunday.

The resilience displayed by Smith was commendable in the disappointing 13-point loss, and has been earmarked as one of her top performances with the club to date.

Smith was the best Eagle afield, igniting the backline with 16 disposals, 12 intercepts, five marks and six contested possessions, and showcased her experience in defence with a further four rebound 50s and three hard ball gets.

In an outstanding start to the season, Smith also had 13 disposals, six rebound 50s and nine intercepts against Fremantle in round one.
