The West Coast Eagles have invited experienced WAFL ruckman Luke Strnadica and emerging East Perth midfielder Kade Dittmar to train with the squad under Pre-season Supplemental Selection Period rules.
Former Fremantle rookie Strnadica – who stands at 203cm tall and weighs 100kg - spent two seasons at the Dockers without playing a senior game and has played the past three years at East Fremantle.
The 23-year-old was the Sharks’ lead ruckman this year, and averaged 15.2 disposals and 34.3 hit-outs from his 18 matches and kicked 10 goals.
Dittmar, 18, was invited to the draft combine after representing WA at under-19s level this year and made his senior debut for East Perth in round 19.
The Margaret River product enjoyed a strong finish at state junior level, picking up 19 disposals, with seven clearances, seven tackles and a goal in the final clash against South Australia.
Strnadica and Dittmar will begin training with West Coast at Mineral Resources Park from Tuesday.
The Eagles have the ability to sign a player during the Pre-season Supplemental Selection Period from January 10 to March 9, or to keep a rookie list spot open until the Mid-Season Rookie Draft on June 1.
