The Eagles Schoolboys Cup is WA’s premier school competition for Year 8 and 9 boys evidenced by the 3,175 students competing in 2018, representing a total of 127 WA schools.
The Eagles Schoolboys Cup competition has schools grouped according to the WAFL district boundaries, with regional schools grouped geographically, to minimise travel until regional and district winners are finalised.
2018 saw the introduction of a second division to ensure the equality and sustainability of the competition;
- Waalitj Division (A Grade): Strong football schools with home & away games played across the metropolitan area.
- Eagle Division (B Grade): Schools of medium strength with home & away games played 'locally' where possible.
The Grand Final of the Eagles Schoolboys Cup is played in Perth in August/September each year, with at least one final hosted at Optus Stadium as a curtain raiser to a West Coast Eagles AFL game.
The West Coast Eagles is proud to support the West Australian Football Commission to offer the Eagles Schoolboys Cup free to all WA high schools.
