Misfortune followed the big man to West Coast in 2024 as his bid to become the Eagles’ lead ruckman suffered setbacks due to injury. After impressing with his contested work during pre-season, Flynn went down with an uncommon injury where his hamstring tendon detached from his knee during a routine ruck drill just before he was due to play his first match simulation against opposition. The former Giant worked his way back into the line-up by round 12 but after just four games back in the AFL a nasty ankle complaint restricted him again and Flynn finished the season in the WAFL.
