The West Coast Eagles will have five selections inside the top 37 picks at next month’s AFL National Draft after an imaginative deal was today completed with the Gold Coast Suns.
The Eagles traded their future first round selection in the 2018 draft for the Suns' second round selection next year and also gave up pick 50 in this year’s ballot.
In return, the Eagles secured picks 21, 26 and 37.
As it stands, West Coast has picks 13, 21, 26, 32 and 37 and will have early access to some of the top end talent in the country as it strives to cover the retirements of several senior stars.
