Three young players with the capacity to carve out long term careers with the West Coast Eagles have been called into the team for the important game with Adelaide at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
After mid-season draftee Connor West was yesterday confirmed to make his debut against the Crows and tall defender Harry Edwards was selected to replace the injured Tom Barrass, the Eagles continued with the elevation of youth today.
When the club finalised its starting 22, midfielder Luke Edwards was also summoned from the extended interchange into the team.
Edwards, whose father Tyson was a 300-game veteran and premiership player with Adelaide, was the medical emergency last week, but now is certain to play. He replaces defender Jackson Nelson in the line-up.
The other players listed on the interchange are small forwards Zac Langdon and Jack Petruccelle while defender Josh Rotham also maintains his place in the team.
The emergencies, from whom the medical sub will be selected, are midfielder Xavier O’Neill, Nelson, forward-ruckman Bailey Williams and 2018 premiership wingman Mark Hutchings.
