West Coast captain Luke Shuey can accept a fine for striking Callum Mills during the second quarter of Sunday’s loss to Sydney.
Shuey was cited by the Match Review Officer after his arm swung back and collected Mills high, with the Eagles star immediately apologising for his action.
The incident was graded as Careless Conduct, Low Impact and High Contact, resulting in a $3000 fine as a first offence, down to $2000 with an early guilty plea.
It means the skipper will be free to play against North Melbourne in round 17, when West Coast will also regain All Australian small forward Liam Ryan from a one-week Rough Conduct suspension.
Fellow forward Jamaine Jones has also been fined $1500 – down to $1000 with an early guilty plea – for Engaging in a Melee on the stroke of half-time against Sydney.
