Late time they met: The Eagles have yet to clash with Geelong in the AFLW , but have already taken home a one-point victory at home against the Gold Coast Suns. The Cats still sit winless on the bottom of the ladder.
The stats: Look for this to be a fast-paced game through the midfield, with the Eagles ranking above Geelong in handballs. The fast-paced, high-intensity work down the ground is what the West Coast outfit are best known for, and they’ll likely make work of it for Geelong. The Eagles also sit loftily in terms of tackles, with midfielders Aisling McCarthy, Bella Lewis, Hayley Bullas and Emma Swanson combining for more than 100.
Eagle to watch: Maddy Collier
Maddy Collier has put in the hard yards week in, week out; and her efforts were finally recognised in round five when she was named in the AFLW Team of the Week. It was a tough week defensively against Fremantle in Sunday's RAC Derby, but Collier was a class act, maintaining composure and putting up strong contested ball-work.
She’s also snapped up 61 disposals, 26 contested possessions, 17 tackles and 18 intercept possessions this season; so expect to see a lot more of her on Saturday.
